This track was written in honor of Mr. Vincent, a former roommate of Geoff and Sammy. Those years at the West Harvest Drive house were pretty rad. This song is a spiritual sequel of sorts to "Markus Both (There You Go!), another of DWD's odes to awesome roommates, The plan was to make a 7" record called Roommates and the M-side be Markus's song and the B-side would be, well you know which side of the line that idea was going to land on...
Anyhow, this song was only performed live twice and, in all likelihood, Basir thought we'd never get around to releasing it. Well, here it is now, sucka! June 8th, 2016 also happens to be Mr. Vincent's birthday. If you know him IRL, you already know how amazing the guy is, so you might as well listen to the song to see your opinion confirmed in dazzling musical fashion.
We love ya and miss ya, Big B! Keep on rockin' the P.A. in PA!

LYRICS:
Back in the day ya know I gotta tell
Met a dope cat who was cool as hell.
His name is Basir. He's a righteous dude.
Gets stuff done 'cause of his attitude
On life, he got it all together.
Ain't no one gonna live forever!
So he don't delay, he lives for today
and that's why he's prone to say:
Let's try this, let's buy this.
Let's shuck this, let's ruckus.
Let's run this, let's gun this.
Aww, screw this, let's do this!
Let's do this, let's do this, let's do-do-do-do-do-do this!
He comes from the land of New Jersey
but once lived in Lincoln, NE.
He likes to run, dance, watch The Wire.
Always in motion like a raging fire!
He's jet-set, always on the go.
He's got one speed and it's ain't slow!
He's always winning at this game
and that's why we're gonna declaim:
Let's try this, let's buy this.
Let's shuck this, let's ruckus.
Let's run this, let's gun this.
Aww, screw this, let's do this!
Let's do this, let's do this, let's do-do-do-do-do-do this!
B! stands for badass!
A! African-American!
S! Smoove!
I! Invincible!
R! Rambunctious!
That spells BASIR VINCENT
B-A-S-I-R ad verendum
Let's do this!

Dude Won't Die is a musical shapeshifting entity which resides in the middlest of America. When not crafting post-modern
digestible power-pop-doom-rock songs, the amorphous members of DWD spend their time working on The Earworm Farm, which is pretty close to a full-time gig....more
